Here’s what Dustin & April had to say about their Funnel Day Experience in San Diego, CA with Bryan Dulaney and the team.
“I’m Dustin Schaffer, I’m local here in San Diego, live up in Oceanside, California. A little but about me and my business. I have a passion with health and wellness. I want to take care of people, help people get better in their health. I find that people often aren’t getting lead to the proper education of what’s really wrong. What’s the really core, root problem of their issues. The reason why I wanted to create this Funnel is, we wanted to really help, initially help women, or create a business around helping women with abdominal surgeries, hysterectomies or c-sections.”
“My wife, two weeks ago had a c-section and we really are passionate about … Now what? How do we strengthen and restructure that core strength? I think the other part of it is, I have a big background in health coaching, dealing with people with pain and discomfort in their life. Nutritional Counseling. We want to create Funnels that we can provide extensive value for them to give them a better chance at health and wellness at their own home. That makes it easy for them, when they’re not getting it from their trainers, their coaches, their doctors as well as they should be.”
“I’m April Schaffer, I’m Justin’s wife. I am an attorney in the Marine Corps. I don’t have, obviously, the background knowledge that Dustin has on this subject. I did have a c-section two weeks ago. One of the reasons we wanted to create this also, was this is something that he’s been working on for a long time. Both of us work full-time jobs. Trying to create internet marketing, and put this product out onto the market on our own was a bit overwhelming.”
“Yeah it is. I didn’t know how to do it. I tried. I sucked at it. We need residual income to give comfortability in our household, within hours that we have.”
“It happened about six years ago.”
“About six years ago when we were in North Carolina.”
“We were in North Carolina. My wife said, told me I underachieve, and I need to do more. I decided that I needed a bigger voice, and I wanted to go online and do internet marketing. I took a really expensive course. It cost $25,000 plus another $15,000-$20.000 to try to figure out, and buy all the sites and everything else to do this.”
“I realized, I’m really bad at internet marketing. It’s not what I’m good at, it’s not what I’m passionate about. I’m passionate about helping people. I didn’t understand it well enough to be successful in it. I made a few bucks. That’s about six years, I guess. We’ve been really waiting for the right opportunity for our family to be able to take this knowledge and move it forward.”
“With me being in the military, we wanted to create income for him that was residual. That he could live anywhere in the country, or even outside the country and not have to be recreating the wheel every time we moved someplace new. That was another huge factor for us.”
“I had some familiarities with the Funnel system, just because I took these courses and learned a little bit about what internet marketing is. Funnels was just another term for me that. I was familiar with it, I had never experienced it before at the level that we were able to see today.”
“he vision for me became more clear. I could see the start to the end. Okay, this is what it’s going to take, this is the responsibility, and this is my responsibility in this. The part that I know I need to be good at, and somebody else has a responsibility that they’re good at.”
“I would say after today, the vision is much clearer. We were trying to do this on our own, I really shouldn’t even say we, I should say Dustin, because I wasn’t participating very much with it. Him trying to do it on his own, it’s obviously, not really having any prior knowledge of internet marketing. Coming here today, the level of professionalism and knowledge on how to do this is so much different and so much greater. So that’s pretty amazing.”
“I had a pretty clear idea of what was going to happen today, based on our original conversation that we had about it. I definitely would say today exceeded our expectations.”
“I think the biggest expectation we had, was coming in as clarity on how to move forward with what we knew, the content we had was really valuable. Also where our responsibilities were going to be. Like what was my responsibility? I knew I didn’t want to be writing content. I have the content. There’s certain things I didn’t want to have to do. That became very clear to me, what my role is in this, and how I need to do move forward for our portion to be successful, right?”
“I think that was very, very well achieved. Also the camaraderie. My expectation was, can we relate to these guys, can we work with the, are we going to be able to have a strong conversation together, are we going to be likable, are we going to work together right.? That also exceeded my expectations.”
“Not knowing Bryan at all and getting to know him. Knew Drew a little bit. It was great to get to know them. Michael jumped in and you could tell he’s just a happy man. That exceeded my expectations, just because we all got along really well. We just communicated well.”
“I would say something that definitely … I completely agree with everything that Dustin said. It was very much a… can we work with these people in this company? Are they going to understand what we’re trying to achieve? That was very much, that was very important to us. The communication, and the working very closely, because this is something that Dustin’s been working on for a long time. Being able to see it, the vision, the depth of vision that they had with it was amazing.”
“We came in here with an idea of one product that we were going to be discussing today, with the possibility of these other products and ideas to come down the line later. It really became a discussion about all the ideas and all the products and how they are intertwined. Bringing them all to market, which was far exceeded what I thought we were going to get into today. It was really great, seeing that interplay, all the ideas, the creativity in the room, that was really nice.”
“I think for me, the most unexpected thing I saw was that, there was so much more to offer than I realized. Right?”
“There’s so many ways to create revenue streams that I didn’t understand. There’s so many more to come. I see there’s so many more things that we can do that sets us up for success. Not only giving extremely value to our people and our following, also getting our financial situation, providing more for us. I think that’s probably the one thing that really got me the most. Like April had said, the way Drew and Brian were able to communicate and help lead us to get to a better conclusion of ways for all the products to work together.”
“I would definitely agree with that. We had a very basic understanding of internet marketing prior to this. Really seeing, like Dustin said, all the different avenues that you can approach a product or a concept with. Also the ways you can bring it to market, or introduce it, or re-introduce it. Things like that, that we weren’t thinking about before.”
“For us, for the Funnel Day, our investment was, I think … We thought about it, don’t get me wrong, we thought about it. We’ve also invested a lot of time and money and energy into our project, and realized that the $30,000, $40,000, $50,000 we spent prior to this, we weren’t set up for success, right? We didn’t have the success. For our investment today, there’s no question going home, the investment was well worth it. For us to move forward or not, which we’re very confident we will. We are set up to be successful moving forward.”
“That was extremely valuable for us, just the peace of mind. If we went home right now and said, “Hey. Listen, this isn’t for us.” We now know exactly where we’re at, and we’re not questioning ourselves if we’re making the right or wrong decision. I think it was very, very valuable. If you’re going to jump into this world and try to do this all on your own, without having a really strategic plan and process moving forward, you’re going to spend way more money than you can imagine. Just on the part that we just learned right now.”
“To piggy-back off that, you would also, if you were trying to do it on your own, it’s a significant time investment for you to learn how to do all this, it’s not just the money investment. It’s also a time investment. With both of us working full time, it just wouldn’t really be feasible for us to do it on our own right now. I think that’s a huge added value to us. This is something we’ve been wanting to do for six years. We spent a lot of time and money on it, and we haven’t got it to where we wanted to go. That definitely factored in with us, looking at the value of the Funnel Day…. read more on the site.
“I would say for anybody that’s looking at this, or considering a platform online … The world’s there, we’re already moving into this area that, if you’re not online or have an online presence, creating a following and creating ad spaces online, you’re behind. It doesn’t make sense that you wouldn’t do that, the question is, how do you want to proceed? Do you want to proceed with somebody that’s very well-experienced, that knows what they’re doing, that can guide you properly.”
“Like you said, we physically didn’t have time do to this. We’d be up all night long trying to learn all this stuff, on top of working, which was affecting us in a lot of ways. If you’re a business owner, and you’re wanting to move forward in a business, then invest in your business, right? See the depth of vision moving forward, and this creates way more facets and opportunities for you than, probably, what you’re currently doing. I think that you’ve really got to take a look at moving in this direction.”
“I would say, know your strengths and weaknesses. Not everybody has the ability. I’m not a technologically savvy person. I am horrible at even just managing my Facebook page, or even going on Facebook. This is a whole, another world for me. Just knowing your strengths and weaknesses and knowing that your time has value. It’s great to try and do everything yourself. Maybe you think that it’ll save you money. If it takes you ten years to get your product to market, it might have been worth it to spend the money up front, obviously, and brought that product to market right away instead of ten years later.”
“Basically if we would have did this six years ago, we probably would have a whole different life at this point. It was a six-year experience for us to figure out that we needed to have a strong team around us that knew what we didn’t know.”
